The Turin Giants Appoint Ex- Italy Head Coach Spalletti

Juventus have appointed former Azzurri manager Spalletti to lead the team for the rest of the term.

The experienced coach steps in for his predecessor, who was sacked following the loss to Lazio last weekend.

The former boss came on board in March to replace Thiago Motta but left after seven months at the end of an eight-match winless run.

Under Spalletti, Napoli clinched the Serie A championship in 2022-23 prior to assuming the Italy role, which missed out on the 2022 World Cup with Mancini at the helm.

Under his guidance, they made it to Euro 2024 exiting in the last 16 stage against Switzerland.

Yet, the Italian FA let Spalletti go in June post a qualifying defeat against Norway, putting Italy in danger of missing a third straight World Cup.

He has previously coached Inter Milan, Roma, and Udinese in Italy's top flight and won the Russian Premier League twice with Zenit St Petersburg.

Massimo Brambilla took interim charge of Juventus during the 3-1 victory over Udinese on Wednesday which left them seventh in Serie A - six points adrift of Napoli at the top after nine rounds.

In the Champions League, they sit 25th in the league phase, having lost once and drawn twice in their opening three matches.
